MARTYN JONES MP URGES LOCAL BUSINESSES TO STAND UP AND TAKE A BOW
Martyn Jones MP today backed two sets of awards which give plaudits to local businesses and reward their success. The two awards are the Tiffin Cup and the B&Q ‘One Planet Living’ Awards 2008. The latter award gives grants of upto £10,000 of B&Q materials to deserving environmental groups, community organisations, schools, charities or sports clubs. Award winners need to be able to demonstrate how their projects support either energy saving; natural habitats, wildlife or cultural heritage.
More information on these awards can be found at www.diy.com/awards but anyone after more information can contact my office on 0207 219 3417.
The Tiffin Cup is an award for the best South Asian Restaurant in the constituency. The award is a year of Cobra Beer. Anyone interested in being nominated should write in to Martyn Jones MP’s office.
Mr Jones stated: “The businesses of Clwyd South have much to promote them and our local people are all too rarely nationally acclaimed. It is only right that our superb business culture receives the attention of the UK wide spotlight.
It’s difficult when you have lived in the Clwyd region as long as I have to pick just your favourite community project or your favourite restaurant. There are just too many options. I’d love to hear from some of our local entrepreneurs who are looking for a little free attention.”
